Lightening hair naturally: try these foods

lemon

The lemon is the absolute classic that can be used to lighten hair naturally.

For medium-length hair, you need the juice of four lemons. For longer or shorter hair, less or more accordingly.

Squeeze out the lemons and pour the juice through a sieve, for example a tea strainer, to filter out any pulp contained in the juice.

Alternatively, you can also buy juice in the bottle, but you should make sure that it is 100% fruit juice and not fruit nectar, because the juice content is negligible in the latter.

Lemon juice contains citric acid, which can irritate your skin. Therefore, only use this method of natural hair lightening on unwashed hair. The sebum protects your scalp from acid, for example.

Now apply the lemon juice to dry hair. For example, use an empty bottle of body lotion or another container with a small opening.

Due to the natural cloudiness of the juice, spray bottles would very quickly stick and become inoperable. Now comb your hair well so that the lemon juice is well distributed.

It is then important that your lemon juice-soaked hair get about two hours of sunlight. Take time to read a book on the balcony, or go jogging or pulling weeds.

Wash your hair after at least two hours of sunlight and apply a hair treatment. The more you use the lemon juice method, the lighter your hair will be!

Cinnamon to lighten the hair

cinnamon

Cinnamon is a gentle brightener for brown hair tones. The hair lightens gently and slowly with cinnamon and smells wonderful after use!

Mix equal parts cinnamon powder with hair conditioner to a pulp and apply it evenly to your dry hair.

Cinnamon needs a longer exposure time than lemon juice, so it’s best to use this method in the evening so that the cinnamon can work overnight, but at least six hours.

To do this, wrap cling film, a shower cap, or a plastic bag around your hair. This way, the paste cannot dry on your head and remains active for the entire duration.

The next morning or after six to eight hours you remove the cinnamon paste with shampoo – and start the day with a great scent and a small shade of lighter hair color !

chamomile

Chamomile is an ideal means to make natural blonde hair more radiant, but also to lighten it a little.

To do this, cook a very strong chamomile tea from several tea bags. The best way to do this is to use a small saucepan and simmer the water with the tea bags until you have a concentrated, deep yellow liquid.

Let your tea concentrate cool down and pour it lukewarm over your hair. Again, it is important to go into the sun afterwards.

Let the hair dry in the sun and let the sun’s rays soak in for at least an hour. Repeat the application until you like the hair tone.

This method is also great to combine with the lemon juice method! If you use the tea without lemon juice, you don’t have to wash your hair after drying your hair in the sun.

If you use a combination of tea with lemon juice, please wash your hair after use because of the citric acid and apply a cure.

honey

Honey is an all-rounder in cuisine and naturopathy. In cosmetics, too, it is often used in expensive products.

However, you can use simple honey to lighten your hair naturally at home.

For medium-length hair, you will need about four tablespoons of honey. Honey is very tough and difficult to apply.

So dilute it with a tablespoon of warm water, chamomile tea, or lemon juice, and then knead the mixture thoroughly into your hair.

Wrap your hair in cling film or a shower cap and let the honey sit for at least six to ten hours. Then wash out and repeat as desired.
