Because the harmful substances in shampoos penetrate the body through the skin, which can have unpleasant effects on health in the long term.

Additives such as sodium lauryl sulfate are also used, for example, in industrial detergents or as degreasers. On the scalp, it removes oils that prevent the skin from drying out.

A natural and healthy alternative are ecological shampoos, which are made with natural and vegetable ingredients and flavored with essential oils. Unfortunately, these are usually much more expensive than conventional shampoos.

That’s why we’re giving you a  traditional recipe with baking soda and vinegar today .

Shampoo with baking soda and vinegar

Ingredients:

  • Baking soda
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Two small plastic bottles
  • water

Manufacturing:

Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with a glass of water and pour the mixture into a bottle. It couldn’t be easier! If you want, you can use a little more or less hydrogen carbonate, depending on whether you have oily or dry hair.

Now you mix a quarter of a glass   Apple Cider Vinegar with a glass of water and pour this mixture into the second plastic bottle. This is the flush.

  1. Wet the hair and apply the baking soda mixture by gently massaging your scalp and hair.
  2. Rinse the hair thoroughly. Your hair will likely look rough, but the vinegar mixture will stabilize the pH again.
  3. Apply the vinegar mixture, then rinse your hair thoroughly afterwards.
  4. The vinegar smell will go away once the hair is dry.

Hints

You can add natural essential oils to flavor the shampoo and gain additional benefits. For example, if you have dandruff, you can add tea tree oil.

Rosemary prevents hair loss, lavender has a relaxing effect and smells very pleasant.

If you have very dry hair, you can use jojoba or sesame oil after washing and apply a natural moisturizing mask from time to time.

If you switch to natural products, it takes a while for the sebum production to regulate itself again. You have to be patient during the changeover period, but it’s worth it!
